    A Great Christian Resource Site

I don't know how many of you are aware of CrossWalk.com but it is a very large site with all kinds of stuff for the Christian Walk.   They have recently updated their site and I thought I would share it with my readers.  If you have never been there or haven't been in quite some time, give them a visit.  I think you'll be glad you did.

By the way, this is my first blog entry via email.  So, I don't know how it will look but sure hope it looks just fine.  I won't be able to view it for a few hours so if someone sees this and thinks it really stinks or it doesn't work right, please send me a email so I can log on and fix it or delete it.

My subscribers list is now nearing 900!  I would love to hit the 1,000 mark before summer.  You can forward the link to join  http://visitor.constantcontact.com/email.jsp?m=1101330765321 to your friends and/or family.  Remember it is totally free and very little advertising appears.  Or if you want, you can sign your friends up and they'll get an email introduction giving them an opportunity to unsubscribe.  But, we don't recommend doing this.  We prefer that you send the invitation with the link and let them subscribe themselves.

    Sincerely,
     Dennis

    Cell Phone vs Bible

Bill Fariss sent this to me today and I thought it was worthy of sharing with my readers. I hope you not only enjoy it, but change the way you look at your bible:

    CELL PHONE vs. BIBLE

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several time a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?  What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. ...
Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry  about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.
Makes you stop and think "where are my priorities?
    And no dropped calls!

Cleaning your computer may extend its life!

I cannot tell you how often I get a PC in that is so dusty inside and the air-flow vents restricted that I don't know why it hasn't burned out already!

I know many of you may never think about cleaning your computer, but you really should.  I don't mean cleaning as in cleaning out all the junk that gets on your computer.  Let a professional do that.  I am talking about physically cleaning the dirt and dust out of it, even an amatuer can do this.

Something as simple as buying a can of compressed air at your local Radio Shack and blowing the dust out of the vents can make a big difference.  (If you visit either of the Radio Shacks in Owensboro ask for Josh Thompson at the mall RS or for Jacob at the RS in Wesleyan Park Plaza.)

However, for the really brave, I've included a link to a Microsoft site that has an article about how to do a thorough cleaning.  https://www.microsoft.com/athome/moredone/cleancomputer.mspx

Talking about Countdown to Confusion - washingtonpost.com

This post was originally input BEFORE the change.  However, due to a little delay, we did not get the e-newsletter out BEFORE the change.  However, you should still load the patches...both the Windows XP patch and the Outlook Patch.

This is no joke.  It is a fact.  Daylight Savings Time will begin 3 weeks earlier this year and last one week later adding a total of 4 weeks to DST.  Below is a snippet from The Washington Post and a link to the full story.  You really ought to take time to read this story to see the potential impact.

    Countdown to Confusion
By Charles Babington and Tomoeh Murakami Tse
    Updated: 03/03/2007

Perhaps the worst that will happen in millions of offices on the second Monday in March is that caffeine-deprived workers will wonder why their automatic coffeemakers failed to perk on schedule. In less lucky workplaces, however, employees might miss meetings, overbook conference rooms or inaccurately record the time or date of important financial transactions.

For the first time in 20 years, daylight saving time will not start on the first Sunday in April. Instead, it will begin three weeks earlier, at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March, the 11th.

Devices from the tiniest BlackBerry to the largest mainframe computer must be updated to ensure their internal clocks "spring forward" by one hour at the right moment rather than on the old date, which has been written into countless programs. Similarly, they must be reprogrammed to revert to standard time a week later than usual, on Nov. 4. Congress decided in 2005 to expand daylight saving time by four weeks, starting this year, in hopes of conserving energy by pushing more human activity into sunlit hours.

By the way, please enter a comment on this blog to let us know how you feel about Daylight Savings Time.  Personally, I wish we would change the clocks and leave them be!  I don't like the time changes and never have.
